I am having difficulties editing my PDF files with OpenOffice. Despite the promise that OpenOffice supports various file formats, direct editing of PDFs proves challenging. Problems occur, such as texts not being able to be properly formatted or the insertion and movement of images not working as expected. Likewise, specialized PDF features such as form fields or comments are not adequately supported. This complicates the process of making quick and efficient changes to my PDF documents.

To solve PDF editing problems in OpenOffice, one could use a program like "PDF Import for Apache OpenOffice". This is a free add-on that allows you to edit PDF files directly in OpenOffice. Once the add-on is installed, you can open and edit PDFs as if they were regular text documents. Changes to text formatting, inserting and moving images, as well as handling form fields and comments is significantly simplified.
How it works
- 1. Visit the OpenOffice website
- 2. Choose the desired application
- 3. Start creating or editing documents
- 4. Save or download the document in the desired format
