IcyZip is a free, browser-based tool for quickly moving live text, links, code snippets, and one file (up to 25 MiB) between exactly two open browser sessions. Pair devices via a QR code or link, with text and file contents encrypted in the sender’s browser before being relayed.
IcyZip helps you quickly move short text, links, code snippets, or a single file between a phone/tablet and a computer without creating an account or installing an app.
It works by pairing exactly two open browser views using a QR code or a shareable link.
Once paired, you can type or paste text and see it update live on the other device.
You can also choose one file to send, up to 25 MiB in size.
Text and file contents are encrypted in the sender’s browser before they are relayed, keeping the content private during transfer.
Both browser windows must remain open and online for the transfer to work.
IcyZip is designed for quick handoffs, not for cloud storage, folder syncing, offline pickup, LAN discovery, or peer-to-peer transfers.
The service does process connection metadata and the file’s name, type, and size.
Common use cases include copying a Wi‑Fi password, moving a link from phone to desktop, sending a small document, or transferring a snippet of code from one device to another.
